We try to protect your privacy the best we can, just as we would like to have our privacy protected.
We have some tips on web privacy and controlling spam and cookies.
We do not collect any personal information about people from
their web browsing. We do not match information you provide us with
other information collected by our web server or any other source.
We do not provide information to anybody for any purpose, with two
(1) As necessary to process credit card purchases.
(2) In the rare event of suspected abuse of our site (denial of service or other trouble).
We use a SSL certificate and secure encrypted communications when taking order payment and shipping information with our shopping cart, to minimize the chance of theft of your information. At your option, you may also use our secure server to encrypt communications between you and the web server when browsing our store. You may notice a slight decrease in communication speed, however.
We do save correspondence between us, such as email and sales transactions. Our contact form and email programs do send us your IP address and program name with your message, but we do nothing with this information except view it in your message. We do not match any personal information you provide us with any other information collected by the web server.
Our server does generate typical web server logs, which record IP address, page requested, browser, referer page if any, and date/time. We mainly keep summary total information by day, week, month and total, but we also keep raw logs. We make no attempt to match IP addresses with particular individuals, families or locations, or anything else, with one possible exception - In the rare event of suspected abuse of our site (denial of service or other trouble).
As an example of our commitment, when we wrote this policy statement we decided to quit using Philip Greenspun's clickthrough.net, a system for counting referrals from links on our site to other sites. We only got date and from/to totals; however, we had no control of what, if anything, the 3rd party did with the information they received. We also could not find a policy statement for the service. We are reasonably sure that Philip would not abuse your privacy; however, we did not find the assurances we wanted. Therefore, we decided to immediately discontinue using the clickthrough service. We left in place the Forum and Contributed Links features (until we find replacements to run on-site), but we added "Offsite" warnings by the links.
We avoid using images stored on other servers (such as for Google search, counters, etc.) to prevent "web bug" tracking.
We do not send spam (nor do we like those who do). If you receive email from us, it is because somebody signed you up for our mailing list, we are responding to your inquiry, or we believe we have a good reason to contact you about an order or other business.
We now use mailing list opt-in confirmation, so there is very little chance somebody could sign you up without your knowledge. If this happens, we will be happy to remove you from our list if you let us know, or you can remove yourself.
Our hosting company, also has a strict anti-spam policy.
We have no intention of doing so, but we reserve the right to change this policy at any time, without advance notice. Our policy will be published here.
We will do the best we can to prevent theft of your payment and order information, but we cannot guarantee it.
