Here is a method to mark the sewing line on templates that have very sharp points on corners, such as the Mariner's Compass or the Winding Ways Block.
Using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil, mark as much of the sewing line as possible.
Cut out the patch.
Lay the template from the adjoining patch on top of the patch that has been cut out. Match the sewing line of the template to the cut edge of the patch. Use the cutting line of the template to finish marking the sewing line of the cut out patch.
