August 2010 Block of the Month - Dresden Compass Block Set

What a treat we have for the August Block of the Month, it is the Dresden Compass! Never before have we put these templates together in one set! In our version we have chosen to use the peaked Dresden template positioned at the north, east, south, and west orientation but the choice is yours. After sewing the blades of the compass together it is appliqued down onto a 14-1/2 inch (unfinished size) background square, so the finished block size is 14 inches. This block set looks great simply made up in 30's fabrics, but it also lends itself to great looking kaleidoscopic effects by fussy cutting the blades out of the same repeats of fabric. A design sheet to color and/or cut apart, and piecing instructions are included. The cost for the 3 template set is $13.25 and as always, (US) shipping is free on any order that includes the Block of the Month.
